The symbolism and rituals in the deaths are all too evident and, to practitioners of a certain art, of self-evident concern. Cetin Ikmen uses his friend Max, knowledgeable in the arcane, to help decode what is going on. And evidently it is indeed about to go on – these are not the only deadly rituals that are planned. Nor is Max the only person in Istanbul who is interested in such matters.
More blood is spilt. First in Max’s study…after which, of him there is no trace. Next, a carelessly disposed of body leads to a room spattered in blood yet, curiously, graced by a pile of fresh limes. Then, the new family of Mehmet's ex-wife is drawn into the mix, a simple peasant girl takes Max in hand and a love from Mehmet’s past is used as part of an enchantment acted out on the Bosphorus. Bodies, blood and magic have a power that becomes a matter of record. No matter how you dress it up – it’s murder.
