Summary

There’s a killer on the loose – a brutal, ‘nothing will stand in my way’ sort of killer. Nothing much Joe Hunter can do to stop the first slaying. The target took three shots to the chest, then three to the head. Game over. Andrew Rington was dead and his wife, Yukiko was left wishing she was too.
Nothing much Joe Hunter can do to stop Rink – Jared Rington to give him the name his mother gave him – letting his hatred turn into murder on a San Francisco train. Rink has Sean Chaney, a local enforcer, in his sights, although with his gun that close to the man’s head he hardly needs to sight before he shoots. Camouflaged by three days rough growth on his face, boots that needed recycling and the stink from a rubbish dumpster, Joe Hunter had followed him too. He had to stop his friend making a dreadful mistake. Only one way in the circumstances – he has to shoot Chaney before his friend kills him and gets them both into serious trouble for no good reason. Not that the enforcer thanks him for a crippling shot to the thigh, or the pistol-whipping that Rink dishes out. Now Chaney will find a time to take his revenge – as if the pair didn’t have enough on their plate.
Rink’s mum had her own reasons for holding back when the police wanted information – so she pointed the finger at Chaney. And unwittingly pointed a son hell-bent on revenge at him as well, but Joe knew there had to be a different truth. A truth he would make sure he and Rink uncovered. Made all the more urgent by another death close to them. Only trouble, personal vendettas and police procedure tend to get in each other’s way. Joe and Rink bring all their skills to bear on the fast and furious mayhem that ensues – and mayhem there is aplenty.
Check the edge of your seat - it's where you are going to spend most of the time when in the company of Joe Hunter.
