Dr Maestri was the surgeon who treated Patrizia from the time she was brought in until she died. Accomplished, arrogant even, he had little time now for questions from relatives who previously had had no concern for his patient. Nothing much to say anyway. She had lapsed into a coma, died. He had dealt with everything that followed. Anna found Dr Callegari much more amenable, desirable. That is until there was no doubt that Patrizia’s death was no accident. She had been murdered.
The question was, who else, besides Patrizia on her bike, had been down the road, not visiting the prostitutes. Who owned the distinctive car that was seen waiting around? And whose car had been seen picking her up in the evenings? Who made sure she was always back at the farmhouse before midnight? To add to the speculation, a young man has gone missing.
